Another super day for both the 1st and 2nd teams with a couple of wins - retaining their unbeaten start to the season.

After losing the toss at Bramcote, the 1s found themselves having to chase their third highest number of runs for a victory.  After losing wickets regularly Bramcote recovered from 114 for 6 to finish with 225; an unbroken partnership of 111.  Gopichand Duggirala and skipper Adam James both finished with a couple of wickets.

The response didn't start well for the Badgers in losing a couple of quick wickets but then a partnership of 165 between Richard Wells and Chris Hudson saw them looking good for the win.  The partnership was the second highest recorded for the third wicket.  Both Richard and Chris were eventually dismissed for 78 - new high scores for both players.  Only one more wicket fell as a 5 wicket win arrived with 3 and half overs to spare.

The 2nd XI were at home to Kinoulton and seemed to have an easier time.  After being put into bat they amassed 264 for 4 wickets from their 40 over with all the batters making decent contributions.  The 5th wicket unbroken partnership of 102 between Neil Vanderwalt (70*) and skipper Nigel Barrett (40*) is another second best recorded partnership - just 4 short of the highest.  Both payers made their highest score for the 2s.  Thomas Barrett had the second highest score in hitting an almost run-a-ball 43.

Kinoulton never looked like getting close to the target and finished on 172 with just two overs remaining.  The wickets were fairly evenly spread between the bowlers with Max Phillips and Jack Phillips both taking a couple..

Well done again to both teams and thanks for providing some stats that were remarkably similar for both teams in terms of the best partnerships and new high scores for two of the batters.

One more stat.  The 493 runs that our teams scored on Saturday is the fourth highest recorded for the 1sts and 2nds together.  The highest was 583 on July 28th 2018.  Daniel Huskinson scored 150 of them!
