Saturday May 30th

1st XI at home to Wollaton 3rd XI - Won by 3 Wickets

The game had a very different look as it progressed with expected runs and likelihood of a win changing a few times.  The visitors got off to a rapid start with 40 runs in the first 5 overs and a score about 250 looked possible.  Gopi Duggirala then took the key wicket of their main run scorer (37 of the 40) and then wickets began to tumble.  At 100 for 9 it looked like being a quick game with relatively few runs to chase.  The last pair though then put on 52 to set a bit of a challenge.  Two of our bowlers picked up their best return for the 1s; Gopi Duggirala with 4 for 30 and Nick Proverbs 2 for 11.  Mark Sampson was the other main wicket taker with 3 for 44.

The reply started with a wicket lost without a run on the board. Two more had gone as the score reached 43 - more than hundred required after losing key batters looked like it could be a struggle. Richard Wells then started the key partnership with Chris Hudson.  They put on 92 before Richard was dismissed for 91 (a new top score for his new club) from 75 balls with 16 4s and 2 6s and Chris Hudson going just 3 balls later for 25.  Should be OK to win but suddenly with 5 down you never know.  Another couple of wickets were lost but the win was secured.

4 wins from 5 games puts the team in fourth place in Division E.

2nd XI at Bingham 3rd XI - Won by 4 Wickets

The home side were quite dependent on one of their batters in setting a target of 126.  Their wickets fell to six different bowlers with Will Cousins taking 3 for 7 and skipper Nigel Barrett 3 for 20.

Securing a win was never looking easy on the batting front with wickets falling quite regularly.  However Neil Vanderwalt was instrumental to the great win with an unbeaten 46 partly coming in a key partnership with Ethan Riddle with an unbeaten 20.

With 3 wins from just 4 completed games the team are fourth in Division L.

3rd XI at Caythorpe 5th XI - Lost by 65 Runs

A first loss of the season for the 3s in a tough game where the home side put together 234 for 6 from their 36 overs.  Four players turned out for the team for the first time with three from the Mohindra family (Anshul, Arnav and Aryan) with Anshul claiming two wickets and Arnav one.  Callum Vanderwalt also took two wickets.

The reply started well with a partnership between Callum and Simon VanderwaltCallum finished with 64 including 6 4s and Simon hit 24 with 4 4s. Anshul Mohindra made a great batting contribution in addition to his bowling in hitting 34 with 5 4s and a 6.  Finishing on a laudable 169 the team secured full batting points.

The team are mid-table in Division N.
